Biography Genevieve (The Flying Studio Director) During Summer 2010, Genevieve taught her style of pole dance in the Pacific NW of USA: Read the full article on Genevieve's tour here. Genevieve performed pole dance in the public arena in the days when it was thought that pole dancing would never be performed outside the strip clubs. She still performs regularly to many different audiences. Performing in the first ever UK pole dance competitions, she is often a national pole dancing competition finalist. Increasingly others have looked to her to judge national competitions and from 2007-2010 she judged the very popular Pole Divas Competition. This role is especially important as the number of women learning pole dancing all over the country and bravely entering competitions has increased at an amazing rate in the last few years. She has taught many women (and at some events, men) the noble art of pole dancing. During 2011, Genevieve rested from judging and competed in UK Pole Artistes Championships and UK Professional Pole Championships gaining bronze medal and reaching the semi-finals respectively. Genevieve is an Equity member and co-founded Equity Pole Dancer's Working Party (EPDWP), which campaigns alongside Equity for pole dance performer's rights and organises the annual UK Pole Dance Day on May 1st. Genevieve is also on the technical committee within the International Pole Sports Federation (IPSF) which is in the process of lobbying for pole dancing Olympic success.
