LOCATIONS: DERBY & LICHFIELD Why choose us? Combining quality with value for money, we are the most experienced and longest established pole dance school that you will find. We are always striving for acceptance of pole dance as an art form and always keep the standard of teaching high and safety in mind during classes. We have the lowest student to pole ratio around and adhere to (and beyond) the guidelines set out by the Pole Dance Community (PDC) for teaching pole dance. We also co-founded the Pole Dancer's Working Party within Equity (The Actor's Union) which aims to help with regular issues that pole dance performers face. About Us In addition, we have our own Facebook page. Click here to join. Dance Based Classes Pole dancing tones the body and strips fat. It is a great cardiovascular workout and allows you to use your body in sensual ways that make you feel 'all womanly' as a friend of The Flying Studio says. Pole dancing builds strength and lean muscle, improves posture and overall self confidence. Pole dancing is taught in a purpose built studio environment and not in a bar or club. At The Flying Studio, we also provide high trick standard artistic pole dancing for public performance. Pole dancing is not confused with erotic arts such as lap dancing or striptease. Foundation of the School There are a number of firsts that have been acheived by both Genevieve and The Flying Studio. The school developed it's own unique teaching syllabus founded on Genevieve Moody's pole dance technique. Our school also pioneered the use of flat dance shoes (jazz and ballet shoes) for pole dance, despite derision and the wearing of flat shoes is now adopted by most pole dance schools today. We also have a number of trademark moves, both in solo and doubles pole. Genevieve and Susie performed during the first ever doubles competition section in 2007 and came first; also winning best pole trick for their innovative efforts.
