Pole Dance Classes
Pole dancing relies on sufficient grip of the metal pole in order for moves to be executed successfully. For this reason, bare arms and legs are necessary during studio lessons. Shorts and vest top or similar are recommended. Footwear can be split sole jazz shoes or ballet shoes. Alternatively, if you prefer, trainers. You will soon find what suits you.

[At the Leicester studio, suede bottomed shoes are recommended. At the Derby studio, rubber soled shoes are recommended.]

Note: Skin must be free of oils or lotions for classes. Please remove hand jewelery (rings, bracelets and watches).

During the course of your instruction, you will learn the rudiments of pole dancing, including:

  • Hand positions and grip of the pole
  • The correct posture and stance of the body during pole dancing
  • Sensual movement
  • Spins
  • Floor work and transitions
  • Accentuation moves
  • Climbing
  • The use of heeled shoes (during practice sessions)

The above elements are continued throughout the course, coupled with progression (in subsequent levels) to:

  • Static moves
  • Inversions
  • Choreography and combined moves
  • Audience awareness
  • Styling
  • Continued self development
  • Continued building upon previously learned elements
